Congratulations to June Huntley and the Richmond Mews Team!
December’s Outstanding Achievement Award Winners!
National Care Group’s Outstanding Achievement Award for December goes to June Huntley of Oaklea Care Services in Somerset and Shelton Care’s Richmond Mews team – both deserved winners!
Service manager, June Huntley was nominated by regional operations director, Rob Tooze.
Rob nominated June for the dedication and commitment she had shown at Oaklea Care.
June not only relocated from the North East to Somerset, she worked extended days to ensure medication monitoring and administration was appropriately covered. She went to lengths to ensure teams were organised and given direction and worked with colleagues individually to hep build on their skills and confidence.
The service has seen significant improvements because of June’s incredible efforts.
The team at Richmond Mews were nominated by service manager, Jake Durham. He nominated them for the brilliant end-of-life care given to a person we support.
The team completed an end-of-life course, they planned a weekend away for her in Blackpool, organised a birthday party, and even arranged a personalised video message from her favourite singer, Daniel O’Donnell.
The team were determined to make the final weeks memorable, showing empathy and respect every step of the way.
Huge congratulations go to both winners for December!

- Oaklea Care’s Walliscote Road Team. The team were nominated by registered manager, Kate Harvey for the efforts the team made to move five people into their new homes. Each colleague took the time to get to know each person and their individual needs to make for a settled transition.
