April’s Wellbeing Wednesday Email

All colleagues should have had this month’s Wellbeing Wednesday drop into their inboxes today. If you missed it, you can read it online here.

Don’t miss out on our Menopause Champion, Carla Day’s story. She’s got some great advice for anyone curious about or experiencing symptoms.

One of the diary dates included on the email is On Your Feet Britain day on Thursday 28 April. They’re asking everyone to get on their feet more whilst at work. We know a lot of our colleagues can spend most of the day on their feet but for those who could wiggle it a little more, here are their top tips:

  1. Run a lunchtime fitness workshop for the office.
  2. Make phone calls standing up.
  3. Use the stairs.
  4. Have standing or walking meetings.
  5. An alert will sound at random times and everyone must
stand up when it does. A fine for those caught napping.
  6. Take a regular breaks from your computer, stand up, stretch
and walk around the office. Ignore the bemused looks.
  7. Have one less chair than people at meetings. Get everyone to
move around with each new agenda item..
  8. Organise a lunchtime walk.
  9. Walk to work, or get off a few stops earlier and walk the
    rest of the way
  10. Clock your steps and see if you can cram in a few more to add to your NCG Step Challenge total for the day!

Which just leaves us to say that we hope are going to take part in the Step Challenge and / or the Cerina Mental Health Support App trial. They are just two ways to get involved in some of the great Wellbeing initiatives we’re supporting our colleagues with.
