A message from James Allen, Chief Executive
Colleagues across the whole of National Care Group have been amazing in their efforts in keeping everyone safe and well through the pandemic and I am remaining so proud of what has been achieved, at times, under very difficult circumstances.
We know that mandatory Covid vaccinations for all frontline staff working in our sector will be implemented from April and I hope those colleagues not yet been vaccinated will take steps to do so as soon as possible so that they can continue to contribute to the lives of the individuals they support.
In addition, we are also keen to see as many colleagues, as possible, take up the offer of a free flu vaccination, again as part of all our commitment to keep everyone safe and well. We are now entering the traditional flu season and it would be sad if the health and well being of the individuals we support, and our colleagues was affected due to flu spreading across our organisation. Last year the update of the flu vaccination amongst colleagues was the highest it has ever been, and this was a tribute to caring nature of all. This year the update is alarmingly low.
The flu vaccination is not a mandatory requirement and is a matter of personal choice. My purpose in writing therefore is to make a renewed plea to all of you who got the flu vaccination last year to do so again and if you have never had one to get it done as soon as possible.
