Keeping our guard up – one year on

Keeping our Guard Up – One year on

As we reflect on the last 12 months, we know it has been a challenging and exhausting time both mentally and physically.  We are extremely proud of how our colleagues have maintained high standards, observed the socially restrictive rules of lockdown and helped those we support deal with the changes they have faced.

We would like to thank you for everything you do every day in keeping the people we support safe and supported.

We are sensing a glimmer of hope ahead as we move into Spring with the Government’s roadmap easing us out of lockdown.  However, now is not the time to relax and let our guard down.  We continue to have a duty of care to ourselves, our loved ones, colleagues and the people we support.

Continue to follow the rules

We must continue to follow the rules set by the Government and whilst many have received their first Covid vaccination we must still follow the rules in place.  We continue to require you to wear PPE, exercise social distancing where possible both at work and at home and maintain high standards of infection prevention control. These requirements are non-negotiable to protect our colleagues and the individuals we support.  Whilst the vast majority of our colleagues have complied over the past 12 months, given the serious nature of maintaining Covid-safe working practices formal action will be taken with anyone ignoring these requirements.

To date we have done incredibly well to keep our colleagues and people we support safe.  We face the uncertainty of a potential third wave coming over from mainland Europe so we want to do everything we can to get ahead of this.

Thank you for your ongoing support and commitment.
