Graduation blog: Lizzie Petty, HR Business Partner

National Care Group always encourage our staff to develop their skills and knowledge that would benefit their job role.

Whether it be in-house training, or completing an external qualification, we believe the development of our staff would allow for them to exceed their expectation and perform at an even higher standard.

A new feature on both our intranet and newsletter, will be our ‘Graduation Blog’ – this will be a dedicated place featuring stories of our staff who have recently graduated or received a qualification in a particular field.

Our first blog features Lizzie Petty, HR Business Partner at NCG, who completed her Level 5 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Level 5 in  Human Resources Management.

I recently completed my Level 5 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Level 5 in  Human Resources Management at Blackburn University Centre.

The course was for 9 months and took place once a week during the evening, with a further 5 hours of study each week.

This qualification meant I was able to achieve associate status with the CIPD who is the professional association for HR professionals, allowing me to develop my knowledge of HR within a wide variety of fields.

With the study coinciding with my full-time employment, there were challenges that I had to overcome, from time management to prioritizing work when possible.

I received nothing but support from National Care Group, who even offered to fund the course, although I was already enrolled and paid up by this point.

They invested so much time and effort, allowing me to have time off to attend course away days, complete an extra module, proof read my assignments and even use company equipment to complete assignments.

National Care Group understood how important this course was for my personal development and reconised the benefit the company would see with me obtaining this qualification.

Having dropped out of university at 19, I never thought I would be able to say I graduated from university.

I’m proud to finally say I achieved my goal and I know this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of National Care Group!

Have you or someone you know received a qualification? Want to give them a shoutout? Why not send your story to
