Carers Week at National Care Group

Carers Week is an annual campaign to help raise awareness of the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities across the UK.

At National Care Group, we decided to we decided to show our support by creating the Care for Carers Week Campaign – a week-long event that celebrates the amazing work and tireless efforts of our employees.

Thanking staff for their contribution

We kicked off the campaign by sending our staff e-cards and letters from the management team, thanking them for their dedication and the integral role they play in the success of NCG.

It is their hard work and passion that drives NCG on to achieve its aim of being the best provider of care throughout the UK.

Publishing our first quarterly Employee Opinion Survey

We understand the importance of listening to our employees and providing them with a space where they can raise concerns and give feedback on how they feel within NCG.

That is why we implemented the first ever quarterly Employee Opinion Survey, giving all employees the chance to give feedback on what they would like to see be improved at NCG.

Each quarterly survey addresses a different topic, the first one being Communication – this explored whether our employees feel they are able to communicate effectively and have the tools needed to do so.

Since going live, the responses to the survey have been extremely positive and in less than a week we have received more than 100 responses.

The responses and feedback provided will help NCG create and implement better strategies to meet the needs and requirements of our employees.

Launch of our Employee Assistance Programme

NCG recognise the importance of good mental health and well-being, and understand that balancing the pressures of work can be very stressful.

That is why we launched our Employee Assistance Programme, designed to deliver confidential support on a daily basis and ensure our employees feel valued and protected.

Powered by one of the UK’s leading employee well-being providers, Health Assured, this programme features a free 24/7 helpline and a secure Online Health Portal giving our employees the practical and emotional support they need.

This portal provides access articles, webinars and wellbeing videos and are also available as an app, called Health e-hub, on both Android and iOS devices.

The future

We hope that Carers Week will mark a significant change in the way care companies support staff within the workplace and how they can provide them with the tools they require to communicate and feel cared for.

The implementation of our Employee Opinions Survey and EAP gives us the chance to help all of our staff feel part of this growing and dynamic team.
